Sallyport Chausses are Diamond Leggings from the Guard class-loot table in The Knight’s Castle. The lore suggests a doomed rush out of the gates. Fortunately, you don’t need to repeat that tactical decision to get the leggings.
“Buckled for the charge that never returned.” The line gives the item some history, but the reward itself comes from the castle guards and their miniboss, not from the Royal class-loot selection.
Their named reward belongs to the same pool as Worn Leggings. Both are Diamond Leggings, but they are distinct names in a shared class-loot table rather than Normal and Mythic versions of one piece.

Where to Get It
| Dropped By | Chance | Difficulty | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ser Prancelot | Selected from Guard table | Normal, Hard, Mythic | The Knights Castle Guard Class Loot |
| Arcane Knight | Selected from Guard table | Normal, Hard, Mythic | The Knights Castle Guard Class Loot |
| Brave Knight | Selected from Guard table | Normal, Hard, Mythic | The Knights Castle Guard Class Loot |
| Cowardly Knight | Selected from Guard table | Normal, Hard, Mythic | The Knights Castle Guard Class Loot |
These four mobs draw from the Guard class-loot table, but they do not have identical encounters. Ser Prancelot is a two-phase miniboss; Arcane Knight, Brave Knight, and Cowardly Knight are regular castle mobs. That gives you several routes to the same item pool.
Class Loot
Sallyport Chausses is class loot. It has no fixed stats: its enchantments are rolled every time it drops, so no two copies are exactly alike, and harder difficulties allow higher enchantment levels. When a mob drops class loot, each player who wins the drop roll gets one item from that mob’s class loot pool, weighted toward their class.
Dropped as class loot by:
- Ser Prancelot (miniboss): 25% chance per player who dealt at least 10% of the mob’s health
- Arcane Knight, Brave Knight, Cowardly Knight (regular mobs): 5% chance per player who dealt at least 10% of the mob’s health
Possible Enchantments
The levels below are the most each enchantment can roll. Each drop receives about half of the listed levels at random, so most copies land below these maximums. The chance shows how often an enchantment appears at all.
From minibosses:
| Difficulty | Possible Enchantments |
|---|---|
| Normal | Sharpness up to IV (always) Protection up to I (50%) Unbreaking up to I (55%) Smite up to III (60%) Bane Of Arthropods up to II (35%) |
| Hard | Sharpness up to V (always) Protection up to III (55%) Unbreaking up to II (55%) Smite up to IV (60%) Bane Of Arthropods up to III (35%) |
| Mythic | Sharpness up to VII (always) Protection up to III (55%) Unbreaking up to III (55%) Smite up to V (60%) Bane Of Arthropods up to IV (35%) |
From regular mobs:
| Difficulty | Possible Enchantments |
|---|---|
| Normal | Sharpness up to II (always) Protection up to I (35%) Unbreaking up to I (15%) Smite up to II (30%) |
| Hard | Sharpness up to III (always) Protection up to II (55%) Unbreaking up to II (15%) Smite up to III (40%) |
| Mythic | Sharpness up to IV (always) Protection up to III (55%) Unbreaking up to III (20%) Smite up to V (20%) |
Difficulty and Reward Planning
Normal uses level sync +5, Hard uses +0, and Mythic uses -5. These settings change the level relationship for the run; they do not make this class-loot item a separate named version.
Harder difficulties allow higher enchantment levels for class loot, so Mythic is the run to target if you are hunting the strongest roll. The item remains Diamond Leggings on all three settings; its name, class-loot source, and non-soulbound status stay the same.
How This Item Fits
They fill the leggings slot as class loot. Their enchantments are rolled each time they are awarded, so compare the item you receive rather than attributing the fixed defensive bonuses of Charlemagne’s unique leggings to this Guard reward.
Charlemagne’s Damaged Leggings are unique Netherite Leggings with Protection V, Feather Falling II, Unbreaking V, and Resistance I triggered by hits; they have a 5% listed drop chance. Chausses of the Fallen Court and Oathkeeper’s Legplates are Royal Diamond Leggings. Sallyport Chausses come from a different, earlier set of encounters.
Farming the Castle Guards
Cowardly Knight’s ranged pressure is easy to underestimate while focusing on armor farming. It fires tracking arrows every three seconds against players within 20 blocks, and a successful hit can apply Poison I for three seconds or knock a player away. Pay attention to the repeated shots before committing to a long exchange.
Against Brave Knight, being pulled into a cobweb is especially unpleasant: its Vacuum triggers on hit without a cooldown, and its Web lasts three seconds while giving the knight Speed III. Arcane Knight takes the opposite approach with ranged attacks and shield walls. You can farm the same Guard class-loot table while choosing very different fights.
A repeatable approach is to choose the enemy whose attacks you handle most reliably and focus on its Guard-table rewards. The item pool is shared, so there is no need to pretend that one regular knight secretly has exclusive ownership of Sallyport Chausses.
Is It Worth It?
Worth obtaining as a named Guard leggings option, particularly if you want a better enchantment roll from higher difficulty. For a fixed Resistance I-on-hit property, look instead at the separate unique Damaged Leggings reward; Sallyport Chausses should not be assumed to have it.
If your goal is a specific named Guard reward, stay with the Guard loot sources instead of switching to the Royal table and hoping the names overlap. Keep the difficulty-dependent enchantment roll separate from a unique item’s explicit, fixed powers when comparing equipment.
Is It Worth It
Its main enchantment is Sharpness, which can reach IV on Normal, V on Hard and VII on Mythic when it drops from a miniboss. If you want this piece at its strongest, Mythic is the run to farm. Since every copy is rolled, two drops from the same difficulty can still differ, so check each one against what you are already using.
