Moat Fork is a trident awarded through The Knights Castle Guard Class Loot in The Knight’s Castle, the EliteMobs lair. Its flavor text reads: “No knight will admit where this was found.”
Four enemies can award loot from this same Guard table: Ser Prancelot, Arcane Knight, Brave Knight, and Cowardly Knight. That gives you several fights to choose from, but it does not mean all four drop Moat Fork every time.
The name makes it sound like somebody fished this trident out of the moat and quietly put it back in the armory. That fits its place among the castle guard gear: it is a Trident from the Guard class-loot pool, not a weapon tied to Charlemagne’s final defeat.

What Makes This Item Different
The closest comparisons in this dungeon are Threefold Oath, a Royal class-loot Trident, and Charlemagne’s Spear, a unique Trident from the final boss. Those are three different acquisition routes. Do not treat the Guard reward as though it comes with the unique spear’s Loyalty IV, Impaling II, Sharpness V, or Wither I.
If you are choosing which encounter to repeat, first decide whether you want an attempt at Guard class loot or Charlemagne’s separate unique-drop table. Moat Fork belongs to the former, and the class-selection rule means it competes with other Guard items rather than arriving alongside every piece in that table.
Tridents have two separate entries in the dungeon reward lineup: this Guard item and the Royal Threefold Oath. Charlemagne’s Spear adds a third route as unique loot. That makes the item name important when you compare rewards; matching the material does not make the drops interchangeable.
Difficulty and Reward Choices
The Knight’s Castle has Normal with level sync +5, Hard with level sync +0, and Mythic with level sync -5. The castle mobs scale with the dungeon rather than sticking to one fixed level, so a change in difficulty changes the encounter conditions.
Guard items are class loot: each player is awarded one item from the table selected for their class, not all nineteen listed items. A table entry marked 100% is not a 100% promise of this named piece on every kill. Class-loot enchantments are rolled for the item awarded, with harder difficulties allowing higher enchantment levels; Mythic is the difficulty to pursue if the goal is the strongest possible rolled copy.
Class Loot
Moat Fork is class loot. It has no fixed stats: its enchantments are rolled every time it drops, so no two copies are exactly alike, and harder difficulties allow higher enchantment levels. When a mob drops class loot, each player who wins the drop roll gets one item from that mob’s class loot pool, weighted toward their class.
Dropped as class loot by:
- Ser Prancelot (miniboss): 25% chance per player who dealt at least 10% of the mob’s health
- Arcane Knight, Brave Knight, Cowardly Knight (regular mobs): 5% chance per player who dealt at least 10% of the mob’s health
Possible Enchantments
The levels below are the most each enchantment can roll. Each drop receives about half of the listed levels at random, so most copies land below these maximums. The chance shows how often an enchantment appears at all.
From minibosses:
| Difficulty | Possible Enchantments |
|---|---|
| Normal | Sharpness up to III (always) Unbreaking up to II (45%) Impaling up to IV (55%) Loyalty up to III (85%) Channeling up to I (45%) Mending up to I (10%) |
| Hard | Sharpness up to III (always) Unbreaking up to III (45%) Impaling up to V (60%) Loyalty up to III (always) Channeling up to I (40%) Mending up to I (10%) |
| Mythic | Sharpness up to IV (always) Unbreaking up to IV (45%) Impaling up to VI (60%) Loyalty up to III (always) Channeling up to I (40%) Mending up to I (10%) |
From regular mobs:
| Difficulty | Possible Enchantments |
|---|---|
| Normal | Sharpness up to II (always) Unbreaking up to I (35%) |
| Hard | Sharpness up to III (always) Unbreaking up to II (35%) |
| Mythic | Sharpness up to IV (always) Unbreaking up to III (40%) |
Where to Farm the Guard Table
Arcane Knight is the spell-heavy threat of the group. It fires a slow plasma shot every four seconds at a valid target within 30 blocks, attacks nearby players with arrows every eight seconds, and can blind players it hits for three seconds. Its shield walls can trigger when struck, so do not assume continuous attacks will pass straight through.
Brave Knight tries to control your position instead. A successful hit pulls you toward the knight and can leave a temporary cobweb on you for three seconds while the mob gains Speed III. Its web move has a three-second cooldown, but the vacuum pull has none. Creating space between hits matters more than just standing still and trading blows.
Cowardly Knight fights with crossbows, Poison I on hit, a pushing attack, and homing arrows aimed at nearby players every three seconds once it has a target. Those arrows can keep tracking for up to 60 seconds. Plan around repeated incoming shots rather than assuming one dodge ends the threat.
Ser Prancelot is the miniboss route. Its first phase applies Wither I when it hits and can trap a player in packed ice with Slowness VI for three seconds. At 50% health it shifts phases, summons guards, and has the Guard class-loot table active. Its second phase also has bonus-loot and bonus-coin powers, which makes this a distinct encounter from clearing regular knights.
All four routes share the same named Guard class-loot table, but they do not share the same combat rhythm. For a steady series of attempts, choose the enemy whose mechanics you can handle reliably rather than assuming that the hardest fight guarantees the named item you want.
Is It Worth It?
Moat Fork is worth looking at if you want a trident from Guard class loot and you are already fighting Ser Prancelot or the castle knights. Its named identity and material are certain; the value of a particular enchanted copy comes down to the roll you actually receive.
Harder difficulties allow higher enchantment levels, which makes Mythic the run to farm for the best copy. If you are comparing it with Threefold Oath and Charlemagne’s Spear, compare the specific loot source and the stats on the finished item rather than assuming similar materials or names guarantee similar effects.
Is It Worth It
Its main enchantment is Sharpness, which can reach III on Normal, III on Hard and IV on Mythic when it drops from a miniboss. If you want this piece at its strongest, Mythic is the run to farm. Since every copy is rolled, two drops from the same difficulty can still differ, so check each one against what you are already using.
