Vampire Kain is a miniboss in The Vampire Manor, built around making ranged pressure feel personal. His Evoker base mob uses a custom appearance, and the combination of tracking arrows, arrow rain, lightning, and Bullet Hell can turn a straightforward fight into a scramble.
Kain has a 4× health multiplier and a 1.5× damage multiplier. He also refuses to take damage from player projectiles, which means trading arrows with him is the wrong deal from the start.
Defeating Kain counts toward My Vampire Brother! and can reward a Broken Crossbow. He also has a separate Manor class-loot selection.

Difficulty Scaling
The Vampire Manor uses three level-sync settings: Normal is level sync +5, Hard is +0, and Mythic is -5. Dynamic-level enemies scale with the dungeon; the listed health and damage multipliers remain part of their individual profiles.
On Hard, Kain adds Attack Blinding: any successful hit can leave you blind for 3 seconds. On Mythic, Shield Wall also enters the mix, so the fight gains an additional layer of protection on top of his permanent projectile immunity.
Powers and Abilities
- Tracking Arrows: All difficulties. After acquiring a target, Kain fires a homing arrow at every player within 20 blocks every 3 seconds. Arrows can keep tracking for up to 60 seconds.
- Arrow Fireworks: All difficulties. When a player damages him, there is a 15% chance that a glowing arrow will rise from a point within 4 blocks of each contributing player, then burst after 1.5 seconds into 30 arrows heading in random directions.
- Arrow Rain: All difficulties. A player hit on Kain has a 15% chance to trigger the attack, with a 15-second global cooldown. An explosion-particle cloud forms about 10 blocks above him across roughly a 30-by-30-block area; arrows start raining after the first second, and the effect lasts 10 seconds. Kain returns to his starting location afterward.
- Bullet Hell: All difficulties. A hit against Kain has a 25% trigger chance and a 20-second cooldown. He can rise 10 blocks if there is air above him, then fire homing arrows every 0.5 seconds for 10 seconds at Survival or Adventure players within 20 blocks. The arrows stop tracking after 10 seconds or at 30 blocks from the target.
- Lightning Bolts: All difficulties. When damaged, Kain can lock in place for 4 seconds and send a line of lightning strikes toward each player within 20 blocks. Each strike position has a 2-second critical-particle warning; the ability has a 20-second cooldown and a 5-second global cooldown.
- Attack Blinding: Hard and Mythic only. When Kain lands a hit, he applies Blindness I for 3 seconds.
- Shield Wall: Mythic only. When damaged by a player, he has a 10% chance to raise between one and four shield walls that absorb incoming player damage until broken. This has a 60-second cooldown and a 7-second global cooldown; walls disappear when combat ends.
- Projectile Immunity: All difficulties. Kain takes no damage from player projectiles, including arrows and tridents.
- Knockback Immunity: All difficulties. He cannot be knocked back.
- Fire Resistance: All difficulties. He has permanent Fire Resistance.

Quests
My Vampire Brother! includes Vampire Kain as a kill objective.
How to Beat It
Do not bring a plan that depends on projectile damage: Kain takes none from player shots, and you cannot shove him back to buy space. His homing arrows also make standing at a comfortable distance far less comfortable than it sounds.
Keep an eye on the sky as much as the boss. Arrow Fireworks rises before it bursts into 30 arrows; Arrow Rain builds a cloud overhead before the arrows start falling. Those warnings are your chance to get out of the threatened space rather than discovering how crowded the air can get.
When Bullet Hell starts, Kain stops and rises while tracking arrows come in at half-second intervals for 10 seconds. Lightning Bolts has its own visible strike warnings for 2 seconds, so move off those marked positions before the hits arrive.
Hard adds the risk of three seconds of Blindness after a hit. On Mythic, his shield walls mean that some of your attacks can get soaked by barriers, so deal with the walls instead of assuming that the extra damage resistance is permanent.
