Willow Frostheart is a two-phase miniboss in The Pirate Ship. Phase 1 is a Stray with a Bow; at 45% health, the fight switches to Willow Iceheart, a Ravager.
Both phases share heavy defensive immunities and Thunderstorm. The second phase changes the pressure by adding knockback on hits and, on Hard and Mythic, Shield Wall.

Difficulty Scaling
This mob uses the dungeon’s dynamic level scaling. Normal uses level sync +5, Hard uses level sync 0, and Mythic uses level sync -5.
Both phases ignore player projectile damage, fall damage, fire, and firework-rocket damage, and both use Thunderstorm. Phase 1 adds Attack Freeze on Hard and Mythic and Attack Poison on Mythic. Phase 2 adds Attack Push on all difficulties, Shield Wall on Hard and Mythic, and Attack Freeze on Mythic.
Phases
Phase 1 — Willow Frostheart: The fight begins as a Stray with a Bow. This phase uses the shared immunities and Thunderstorm; Hard and Mythic add Attack Freeze, while Mythic also adds Attack Poison.
Phase 2 — Willow Iceheart: At 45% health, Willow becomes a Ravager and uses a custom disguise. Attack Push replaces the Phase 1 poison pressure, Shield Wall appears on Hard and Mythic, and Attack Freeze is Mythic-only. The report’s unique drops and class loot are attached to this phase.
Powers and Abilities
- Invulnerability Arrow: Willow takes no damage from player projectiles such as arrows, tridents, and similar attacks. Active on all difficulties.
- Invulnerability Fall Damage: Willow takes no fall damage. Active on all difficulties.
- Invulnerability Fire: Willow has permanent Fire Resistance. Active on all difficulties.
- Invulnerability Fireworks: Willow takes no damage from firework rockets. Active on all difficulties.
- Thunderstorm: Has a 25% chance to trigger when a player hits Willow. Willow stops for 5 seconds while lightning strikes random spots within 20 blocks of nearby players after 3-second warnings; the global cooldown is 20 seconds, and Willow takes no damage from the lightning. Active on all difficulties.
- Attack Freeze: A hit gives Slowness VI for 3 seconds, encases the player in temporary packed ice for 3 seconds, and shows the freezing effect. The cooldown is 15 seconds and the global cooldown is 3 seconds. Active on Hard and Mythic in Phase 1, and Mythic in Phase 2.
- Attack Poison: A hit gives Poison I for 3 seconds. Active on Mythic in Phase 1.
- Attack Push: A hit launches the player directly away from Willow, with a 10-second global cooldown. Active on all difficulties in Phase 2.
- Shield Wall: Has a 10% chance to trigger when a player hits Willow. It raises 1 to 4 shield walls that absorb player damage until broken; the cooldown is 60 seconds and the global cooldown is 7 seconds. Active on Hard and Mythic in Phase 2.

How to Beat It
Player projectiles, firework rockets, fire, and fall damage do not hurt Willow, so those are poor answers to this fight. When Thunderstorm triggers, use the 3-second lightning warnings to move away from the marked spots.
On Hard, Phase 1 can freeze you on hit and Phase 2 can raise shield walls. Mythic keeps the freeze threat in both phases, adds Poison I in Phase 1, and still gives Phase 2 its knockback and shields.
