Arcane Knight is a regular dungeon mob in The Knight’s Castle, built on an Evoker with a custom disguise. It is the sort of guard that brings more than a sword to a hallway fight.
Shield walls can soak up your attacks while plasma shots and arrows keep coming. If you rush straight into melee, a hit can push you away and leave you briefly blinded.
What makes Arcane Knight difficult is the overlap. Its plasma attack works on a 4-second cycle, its group-targeted arrows work on an 8-second cycle, and a shield wall can appear when you strike it. You can spend an entire exchange trying to reach the Evoker underneath while its ranged tools keep working.
It also punishes getting too close. A successful hit can push you away, and Attack Blinding causes Blindness I for 3 seconds. The result is a mob that disrupts both the approach and the retreat.

The Knight’s Castle uses dynamic levels. Normal runs use level sync +5, Hard uses +0, and Mythic uses -5. The abilities described here work on all three difficulties unless noted.
Powers and Abilities
- Fire Resistance: Permanent Fire Resistance. Active on Normal, Hard, and Mythic.
- Attack Push: A hit launches the player directly away from the mob, with a 10-second global cooldown. Active on Normal, Hard, and Mythic.
- Shield Wall: When hit by a player, has a 10% chance to raise 1–4 shield walls that absorb player damage until broken. It has a 60-second cooldown and 7-second global cooldown; shields disappear when combat ends. Active on Normal, Hard, and Mythic.
- Plasma Blaster: During combat, fires a slow plasma shot every 4 seconds at the first valid target within 30 blocks. It travels until it hits a block, for up to 3 seconds, and damages what it hits. Active on Normal, Hard, and Mythic.
- Attack Arrow: When it has a target, it fires an arrow every 8 seconds at each Survival or Adventure player within 20 blocks, stopping when it loses its target. Active on Normal, Hard, and Mythic.
- Attack Blinding: A hit inflicts Blindness I for 3 seconds. Active on Normal, Hard, and Mythic.
What It Says
- “Be gone!”
- “You dare strike me!”

Understanding Its Attack Cycle
Every 4 seconds in combat: Plasma Blaster fires a slow shot at the first valid target within 30 blocks. The projectile travels until it hits a block, for up to 3 seconds, and damages what it hits. A slow projectile is something to watch and react to, not something to ignore just because it did not reach you immediately.
Every 8 seconds with a target: Attack Arrow fires at every eligible Survival or Adventure player within 20 blocks. In a group, this makes the attack a shared problem rather than a single-player shot.
When you strike the Knight: Shield Wall has a 10% chance to trigger, with a 60-second cooldown and a 7-second global cooldown. It brings up one to four walls that absorb player damage until broken, and the walls drop when combat ends. Continued attacks may hit protection rather than settle the fight as quickly as you expect.
When the Knight hits you: Attack Push launches you away, while Attack Blinding limits your vision for 3 seconds. Both work against standing toe-to-toe for too long, especially when the plasma and arrow attacks can still add pressure.
How to Beat It
Read the fight as a series of threats rather than a single damage race. Look for the slow plasma projectile every 4 seconds during combat and remember it can travel for up to 3 seconds before hitting something. Its arrow volley only targets eligible players within 20 blocks, while the plasma attack searches within 30.
Watch the moment a shield wall appears. The walls absorb player damage and have to be broken before the blocked hits reach their intended target; they are not a reason to assume the Knight suddenly gained more base health. Since the trigger has a 60-second cooldown, recognizing it helps you understand when the extra protection can return.
If the Knight lands a hit, Attack Push may change your position and Attack Blinding can hide the next incoming threat for 3 seconds. That combination is why charging straight in without tracking the ranged attacks can go badly. Fire Resistance is permanent, so a fire-heavy approach is poorly suited to the fight.
