Chestbound Waif is a regular crew enemy in The Vampire Manor. It uses a Drowned base mob with a Trident and makes a simple fight awkward by mixing shield walls with attacks that push you back.
Its 4.8× health multiplier is unusually stubborn for a normal dungeon mob, while the 0.5× damage multiplier keeps the raw-hit threat lower than its staying power. Hard and Mythic add Taze, an attack that can slow you down hard enough to make follow-up pressure far more annoying.
Killing a Chestbound Waif can award an item from the Manor class-loot selection. The reward pool includes weapons, armor, a shield, and pieces whose names change with difficulty.

Difficulty Scaling
The Vampire Manor uses three level-sync settings: Normal is level sync +5, Hard is +0, and Mythic is -5. Dynamic-level enemies scale with the dungeon; the listed health and damage multipliers remain part of their individual profiles.
On Normal, the Waif uses Shield Wall, Attack Push, and Fire Resistance. Hard and Mythic add Taze, which makes the close-range exchange more difficult even though its direct damage multiplier stays at 0.5×.
Powers and Abilities
- Shield Wall: All difficulties. Each time a player damages the Waif, there is a 10% chance it will raise between one and four walls that absorb player damage until broken. The ability has a 60-second cooldown and a 7-second global cooldown; its walls disappear when the fight ends.
- Attack Push: All difficulties. When the Waif hits a player, it launches them directly away, with a 10-second global cooldown.
- Taze: Hard and Mythic only. A successful hit can trigger a “Tazed!” title and three jolts spaced 0.25 seconds apart; each jolt applies Slowness VI for 1.5 seconds. This ability has a 3-second cooldown and a 1-second global cooldown.
- Fire Resistance: All difficulties. The Waif has permanent Fire Resistance.

How to Beat It
Do not mistake its 0.5× damage multiplier for a quick kill. The 4.8× health multiplier makes this Drowned slow to put away, and every hit you land has a chance to bring out shielding that eats your damage instead.
When Shield Wall appears, break through the barriers rather than continuing to swing as though nothing changed. Attack Push can throw you off your position on a hit; on Hard and Mythic, Taze can stack three bursts of heavy Slowness into the same close-range exchange.
The Waif has permanent Fire Resistance, so fire is a poor shortcut for removing it. Stay aware of its Trident and of the moment it raises walls, then commit your attacks when you can land real damage.
